It’s
all about controlled aggression. You need to hustle the car along, but not to
the point where you lose all the smoothness and start making the run messy.
Minimal steering inputs are what you are looking for. Every venue is different:
some reward a more aggressive approach. Its all precision: the more time you
can spend on full throttle is always going to help. If you are not trying to
deal with a slide you have created you will go faster!
This car is Gary West’s 2004 Australian Hillclimb Championship winning car and I took the opportunity to talk to Gary about his car on the last day of the 2004 Australian Hillclimb Championship and asked him what was the car’s history.
