Any ideas on how this works ?

I think that would be for the bearings which have a staking ridge on the outer edge.

Jasko has been busy.

After Powelltown flying visit Jasko and I wondered how to stake the bearings in place.
We knew an idea would come, and Jasko has solved it.

Shoulders have been machined into the cup.
This leaves enough material to stake the bearings in place and a face to weld the wishbone tube.

Win x 2.

our goals are -

Build a safe and reliable, entry level, Hill Climber and Track Day car.
Where possible, using off the shelf items to keep the cost down.
Build now, with a view to give the next owner great value when we move onto the next project.

Does the bearing sit in the centre ring? and the ledge of that ring is staked. Then the extra flange allows for the full face weld of the wishbone tubes.

ohh, send me some dimensions and I'll pop it into the drawings. Are you guys are not going for vertical bolts at all wishbone locations?
